As a Senior Wealth Strategist, you act as an advanced planning and investment resource, helping financial advisors elevate their service to high-net-worth (HNW) and ultra-high-net-worth (UHNW) clients. Your deep expertise in advanced planning and portfolio construction empower you to synthesize Kestra’s broad capabilities into comprehensive, consultative strategies advisors can rely on for complex client needs.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provide a Comprehensive, Consultative Experience to Advisors for their HNW clients

  • Leverage the Full Spectrum of Kestra’s Capabilities: Integrate investment management, alternative investment due diligence, financial planning, life insurance, and more specialized services into an end-to-end solution for advisors.
  • Enhance Advisor Capacity: Help advisors identify the right Kestra resources for each client scenario—whether it’s portfolio construction, advanced estate planning, or specialized insurance coverage.
  • Create Cohesive Recommendations: Bring together multiple disciplines within Kestra to develop sophisticated strategies addressing clients’ tax, estate, succession, and philanthropic goals.

Serve as the Technical & Analytical “Go-To” Expert

  • Advanced Planning & Analysis: Offer high-level guidance on investment allocations, risk management, retirement modeling, and complex estate/trust strategies.
  • Market & Product Insights: Stay abreast of macroeconomic trends, new product offerings, and legislative changes to inform and refine advisors’ recommendations.
  • Strategic Partnerships: Coordinate with Kestra’s strategic partnerships with other investment product and service providers so that their resources, intellectual capital and wealth solutions can be integrated into this end-to-end consultative experience.

Lead & Develop a Team of Junior Financial Planners

  • Team Management: Oversee a group of junior financial planners offering general paraplanning services to Kestra advisors.
  • Training & Mentorship: Coach junior planners on technical financial planning, client-facing best practices, and workflow efficiency.
  • Succession & Growth Planning: Identify and nurture future talent within the team, ensuring continuity of service excellence and knowledge transfer.

SKILLS:

  • Strong presentation skills, both to financial advisors and clients.
  • Proficiency financial planning tools such as eMoney, MoneyGuide, and other planning solutions.
  • Experience with investment & portfolio analysis solutions such as Factset, Informa, or Morningstar.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Undergraduate degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
  • 8-10 years of experience in HNW wealth management and advice delivery.
  • Prior experience managing a team of analysts or planners

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATION:

  • FINRA Series 7 and 63/65 (or 66) - Can be obtained within 6 months of start date
  • CFP Required. CFA & CPWA preferred.

OTHER DUTIES:

  • Ability to sit at a computer for long periods of time in office environment well lit.
  • Ability to lift up to 20 pounds.
  • Position is located in Austin, TX office. Must be able to work in the office during scheduled hours.
