Facebook seeks a Policy Communications Manager to support a wide variety of privacy, content and security programs across Latin America. The role is based in our São Paulo office.
Responsibilities
  • Build and execute complex communication strategies across countries in Latin America
  • Create programs that help educate the press, policy makers and other outside groups on how Facebook works
  • Work closely with our global policy, legal, product and partnership teams to build, understand and communicate corporate and product policies that support and protect our reputation
  • Support communication teams across Latin America
  • Develop proactive communications campaigns to educate new and existing users on Facebook's approach to privacy, safety, security and other topics
  • Develop and pitch stories
  • Prepare messaging and other external materials such as blog posts and videos
  • Support product launches, policy advocacy, and other announcements. Build creative partnerships with public and private organizations
Minimum Qualifications
  • 10+ years of experience managing complex communications projects. Strong writing and story-telling skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional groups including legal, public policy, media partnerships and others
  • Passion for understanding complex policy and regulatory issues
  • Knowledge of Latin America
  • Experience in building sophisticated working relationships with press and external stakeholders
  • Experience managing crisis communications
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in public policy, public affairs, crisis communications or issues management
  • Experience distilling complex policy or technology concepts into plain language
  • Strong media relationships with a diverse range of reporters and opinion makers
  • Experience managing diverse cross-functional stakeholder relations in fast-paced environments
  • Experience developing outreach programs
