The Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids (CTFK) seeks a Legislative and Policy Counsel to support cutting-edge legal and policy advocacy to bring an end to tobacco-related disease, the nation’s leading cause of preventable death. The Campaign is the leading policy advocacy organization devoted primarily to countering the lethal influence of the tobacco industry on public policy. This position is based in Washington, D.C. and reports to the Vice President for Legal and Regulatory Affairs.
What You’ll Accomplish:
- Provide legal and policy guidance in the analysis of federal, state and local legislation affecting tobacco control efforts and will help to develop and advocate for innovative legislative and regulatory proposals to address the use of tobacco products, including e-cigarettes and other products with special appeal to young people.
- Support the Campaign’s litigation activities related to FDA regulation and defense of state and local tobacco control laws.
Skills You’ll Bring To The Role:
- 3-5 years of legal experience
- Prior experience legislative drafting and policy analysis is required.
