Demonstrates proficiency in understanding computer systems, applications and interfaces. Demonstrates proficiency in data gathering techniques and the ability to devise, design and communicate systems solutions to client issues and problems of medium complexity. Demonstrates an intermediate understanding of the CT Children’s business functions. May require specialized knowledge in a specific application/computer system. Creates detailed work-related specifications, system design documentation, procedures, process and data flows, and project and change management plans. Communicates effectively with clients and colleagues. Demonstrates proficient degree of analytical skills. Supports multiple concurrent work efforts, educates and coaches other team members, and works with minimal supervision in support of team initiatives.
Possesses and demonstrates a working knowledge of professional billing related workflows, including provider billing, coding and claims, charge modifiers and charge router. Oversees and maintains the overall integrity of the Epic Resolute Professional Billing module to support operational workflows.
Job Duties
The responsibilities of a Systems Analyst encompass identical responsibilities as an Associate Systems Analyst, but with a greater degree of complexity. A Systems Analyst also:
May be required to travel to/from and work in the various CCMC locations, including patient care areas. May be required to travel for mandatory certifications. May be required to represent IT and/or present to various Hospital Clinical and/or Operations Committees. Understand and comply with all enterprise and IS departmental information security policies, procedures and standards.
Support the integration of information security in the development, design, and implementation of Hospital
Technology Resources that process, transmit, or store CT Children’s information. Support all compliance activities related to state, federal regulatory requirements, healthcare accreditation standards, and all other applicable regulations that govern the use and disclosure of patient, financial, or other confidential information
Responsible for the implementation, maintenance, and optimization of the Epic modules and third-party integrations that support the operational workflows of the Professional Billing and other Revenue Cycle Departments. Serves as a liaison between the Revenue Cycle departments and Information Solutions.
Education Required: High School Diploma, GED, or a higher level of education that would require the completion of high school, is required.
Education Preferred: BA/BS Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or other related Health Care field, is strongly preferred.
Experience Preferred: Two to five years relevant experience within a healthcare environment highly desired or equivalent demonstrated knowledge and capability preferred.
One to three years Information Systems Analyst experience highly desired. Proficient in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Outlook, etc.). Knowledge of project development life cycle preferred
Minimum of 1 year of experience with Professional Billing workflows preferred.
License and/or Certification
Required:
Epic Certification or Proficiency in Resolute Professional Billing.
Preferred:
For Epic applications teams, at least one relevant Epic certification is required as outlined in the Epic certification policy. Additional Epic certifications may be required (Chronicles, SQL, etc) in order to support higher complexity projects or issues. For non-Epic applications, a relevant certification is desired, if available.
Experience with provider credentialing workflows and billing-related SER record requirements.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of:
Project development life cycle methodologies desired. A demonstrated knowledge of cross application/system workflow and data relationships is required.
