As our Senior Firmware Engineer, you’ll support HID’s success by: 

  • Designing and implementing of new secure embedded firmware applications in C
  • Developing test fixtures in C and higher-level Object-Oriented language (e.g. C# or Python)
  • Supporting in the design and development of auxiliary desktop engineering tools
  • Preparing source code documentation
  • Preparing, presenting, and participating in technical discussions and code reviews
  • Analyzing and evaluating software requirements; collaborate with colleagues and customers to gather and define product requirements
  • Assisting in product design and architecture development
  • Proactively providing status, raise issues, and communicate necessary information to appropriate team members on a regular basis 

What we will love about your background: 

  • Ability to effectively communicate in the English language verbally and in writing
  • Ability to read and interpret technical journals, specifications, international technical standards, etc.
  • Applied cryptography knowledge is a plus
  • Familiarity with source code management, bug tracking, project planning, and continuous integration tools

Your Experience and Education include: 

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university (CS, EE, or relevant discipline) 
  • 3+ years of software development with experience in embedded microcontrollers (ARM Cortex-M, RISC-V, etc.)
  • Excellent programming and debugging skills in the C programming language. Assembly language knowledge is a plus. Any higher-level language knowledge (e.g. C# or Python) is a plus
  • Experience with secure elements is a plus
  • Embedded RTOS (FreeRTOS, Zephyr, etc.) knowledge is a plus
  • Proficiency in communication protocols (I2C, SPI, ISO7816/14443, NFC, BLE, etc.) is a plus
