What do you get to do in this position?
Member of a Customer Project team, led by a Project Manager. The Technical Leader is responsible for the right technology solution for the customer needs regarding technical performance, quality, costs, lead time, technical/commissioning documentation in the framework of the standard reference design provided by the Solar BU R&D team.
Specify the system & all products/equipment to procure according to customer requirements, as per pre-engineered solution.
Validate the technical choices throughout the project and ensure compliance with the final solution.
Follow Solar BU / Project execution technical working hours budget, with the objective to remain under the planed envelope at the tendering stage.
Support the Project Manager in the risks analysis and mitigation plans for all technical issues.
Schedule, Coordinate and control technical BU team involvement when required (Solar BU R&D design team, SCADA Technical Leader).
Per defined timeline, check drawings from factories, and drive them on technical choices.
Manage the customization of standard documents/drawings provided by the Solar BU to take into account adaptations required by the project.
Coordinate all technical matters and clarify technical issues raised by the customer or internally.
Environment & Location
Integrated into Project Execution department of the Solar Business.
Located in Denver.
Travel required: 20% (customer visits, site visits).
Ability to work for Customer projects in all EMEA regions from their office.
Customer/Solar Solution knowledge
Identified contact for all customer technical issues and as such should communicate professionally and in coordination with the Project Manager.
Master the Solar Technical Solution, defend/argue customer benefits, and provide the best compromise between function and cost.
Make sure that suppliers are manufacturing per our specification, drive technical clarification during project execution, validate through FAT, and ensure documentation provided is as built and delivered on time.
Site commissioning preparation & coordination
Prepare commissioning tests plan based on standard documentation and guideline provided by the Solar BU.
Provide Field Service engineers all necessary information & drawings to enable their autonomy during Site Commissioning.
May coordinate site commissioning if needed by the project. As such, they should have required professional habits and be concerned/cautious about Health, Safety, and accident prevention.
This job might be for you if:
Education: electrical engineer or experienced technician.
Language: English fluent.
Excellent communication; able to influence customers on the application.
Experience: Minimum three years of experience in power generation or electrical distribution. Specific knowledge in Solar applications and Power conversion stations will be appreciated.
