Insurance Consulting & Technology
As an advisor to more than three-quarters of the world’s leading insurers, Willis Towers Watson’s Insurance Consulting and Technology (ICT) business is the industry’s leading risk specialist and a leader in financial modelling. We have more actuaries and Chartered Enterprise Risk Analysts serving the insurance industry than any other professional services company.
Overview of the role:
All levels of student actuary will be considered.
As an actuarial student in the Life Insurance actuarial outsourcing team, you will work with a team of qualified and non-qualified actuaries across a portfolio of clients. This is a unique opportunity to work for a consultancy practice, but in a team that operates like an insurance company. This leads to rapid development of skills across a broad spectrum of experience, client engagement and responsibility.
You will be part of a diverse and interesting working environment in a growing and capable team. The core tasks can include:
- All aspects of actuarial reporting, across a range of insurance clients giving exposure to a wide variety of tasks, methodologies and challenges.
- This includes data preparation and analysis, actuarial modelling, results analysis and explanation of those results and report writing.
- Regular exposure and contact with clients.
A key aspect of the work will be using software, such as modelling software and workflow tools. You will receive training on these tools and be expected to demonstrate keenness to acquire new skills and apply them to your work.
You will be expected to be involved in development and improvement activities where we seek to improve the processes we operate. This could be through spreadsheet development, implementing software or other ways.
You must be enthusiastic and have a drive to deliver high quality service to our clients as part of a high-performing team.
Willis Towers Watson is an equal opportunities employer and does not discriminate on any basis. We support flexible working and this role will be considered on a flexible basis.
