Pay Grade: RD
Under the direction of a Registered Nurse, the Licensed Practical Nurse, LPN,contributes to the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation to deliver safe, therapeutic and age appropriate patient care. The Licensed Practical Nurse provides input to the health care team to promote wellness, maintain current health, and/or intervene in acute or chronic illness.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Knowledge of nursing process and social, behavioral, biological, and physical sciences as normally acquired through completion of an approved practical nursing program.
• Basic analytical ability as required to:
• Operate complex electronic monitoring equipment
• Recognize abnormal signs and symptoms
• Organize and summarize information
• Make judgments regarding patient care within scope of practice.
• Highly effective verbal communication and interpersonal skills to establish working relationships
that foster optimal quality patient care.
• Ability to document legibly using a writing instrument.
• Ability to use computer keyboard to input and obtain data.
