QA Automation Test Engineer – Big Data

Your Impact in this role:

  • Foresee has just launched a new AI/ML/Big Data Platform
  • You will be one of the first hires to test Foresee’s next generation Big Data Analytics platform, working alongside “big data” engineers, database engineers, DBA’S and DevOps to build test strategies and test automation for development of our new big data storage and machine-learning initiatives.
  • Be an advocate who understands the needs and expectations for our customers. 

You will have ownership for delivering:

  • Work with big data analytics engineers to develop automated testing systems.
  • Develop testing software that will generate and validate test data for big data systems.
  • Develop testing software that will investigate the performance and scalability of big data systems.
  • Work with product managers and development leads to create testing strategies.
  • Create test plans and test cases for assigned components.
  • Execute and automate test cases, and perform bug tracking and management.
  • Contribute in building a flexible and scalable data testing automation solution.
  • Help create and implement quality processes and requirements.
  • Identify and communicate risks about our releases. 

Required skills needed for this role: 

  • 1-2+ years of QA experience with automated testing of big data or analytics systems.
  • Experience developing software or test automation in Java, especially Rest API test automation.
  • Strong knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases, and document store systems.
  • Amazon Web Services (EC2, EMR, S3, ELB, Cloud Formation).
  • Working knowledge of bug tracking tools (e.g., Atlassian Jira).
  • Experience testing big data storage systems and tools such as Hadoop (like Cloudera, Hortonworks), EMR, Spark, Cassandra, Hive.
  • Knowledge of Spark and related applications (Kafka, Spark SQL/MLib).
  • Experience testing scalable, distributed big data systems.
  • 4-year college degree or equivalent experience.
