Global Supply is a multidiscipline function that makes the right product available at the right time, at the right cost and in the right quality. The Supply function is an umbrella for all activities across planning, making and delivering of the products and has a special focus on the Market facing through the Market Supply function. A key priority in Supply is the efficient and rapid introduction of new products. The areas of lifecycle management and initiative execution overlook the entire process of change management including sizing of new initiatives, portfolio management and the cost associated with the renewal of the product life cycle.

THE ROLE

Coty is seeking an exceptional individual to join the Market Supply team as SC Leader for MEA for our Mass Beauty and Prestige businesses. This is a fast-growing region with revenues of ~$425M, with over 40 million units sold, circa 7000 SKUs and a supply chain team of 30 people.

The Role will report directly to the SVP Market Supply and a dotted line into the Coty MEA Managing Director. They will be an active member of the Coty MEA leadership team and will be the representative of Supply within this team. In this role the successful person will directly lead all aspects of the supply chain within the MEA business (UAE, Africa, KSA, local Travel Retail, Export markets). The scope covers S&OP, customer services, as well as a matrix responsibility on local logistics, transport and customs clearance.

The role has a regional scope [MEA is a consolidation of multiple business units] and as such requires significant direct and matrix management including the key interfaces into the global supply teams as well as the regional Logistics. They will also need to partner with the Global planning hubs to ensure strong product availability, service and that the business priorities of MEA are clearly understood and integrated into the ways of working.

The role requires a hand’s on and dynamic leader who will manage within a complex business context, with significant growth whilst managing the different business unit drivers and challenges across the region. The ability to balance and optimize service, cash and cost whilst driving a positive people-based agenda reflecting the diversity of the region will be critical.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & TASKS

MEA Leadership Team

  • Represent supply on the MEA Senior Leadership TEAM
  • Matrix reporting to Managing Director of the MEA Region
  • Peer Group General Managers (KSA, Africa), CFO, Marketing, HR, Legal
  • Responsibility to cascade direction and actions across the wider supply chain within MEA including coordinating with purchasing and logistics to ensure a coherent strategy and deliver suitable solutions and results.
  • To be the voice of MEA both at the regional level and within the wider supply chain teams.
  • Follow up and ensure agreed actions are driven to a conclusion, delivering expected results.

MEA Supply Team

  • Lead all MEA supply teams across the whole region.
  • Manages Organization (Diversity, priorities settings, developing local talents, productivity, etc.) across the Region.
  • Achieves SC KPIs – Service; Forecast accuracy; SC costs ; Inventory and E&O.
  • Develops and implements supply chain strategies in line with Regional and local Go To Market strategies /Commercial needs
  • Leads S&OP Process at the regional level.
  • Manages collaboration with the Planning centers (collaboration models/service Level agreements/service improvement action plan)
  • Collaborates with global and regional logistic teams to ensure optimized availability and customer services.
  • Leads any go to market changes, linking in with the global SND team and other stake holders as required.
  • Monitors Logistics performance in collaboration with the regional Logistics team: Service, Cost; Quality; Customization; Transportation, 
  • Active participant of the Global Market supply leadership team.

MEA S&OP - Lead the monthly S&OP divisional drumbeat

  • Consolidate & lead MEA S&OP meeting
  • Ensure accuracy of all figures and raise regional topics with corresponding analysis and data to drive discussion through to decision making.
  • Track actions through to their timely conclusion.
  • Collaborate with MEA CFO to perform S&OP vs financial forecast reconciliation

Transformational projects

  • Lead any MEA transformational projects (can be regional initiatives or company-wide projects) Monitoring the project progress and key deliverables in terms of functionality, timings, costs.

KPIs

  • Service across the Region, BU’s, by House or key products.
  • Sales Plan Performance (Bias, Lag1/3) measuring overall bias for relevant BUs and/or brands
  • SKU Forecast Accuracy (MAPE90) measuring mix accuracy for relevant BUs and/or brands
  • S&OP/demand planning Health Check score for MEA
  • Weekly Demand Control on track for MEA
  • Long Range Forecasting on track for MEA (12 to 18 months rolling depending on BU)
  • E&O Management across the Region
  • Manage Head Count and Cost across the whole team.
  • Innovation Sizing across the Region

PROFILE/SKILLS

  • Degree level education or higher (ideally within the fields of logistics, economics or engineering)
  • 10+ years of experience of supply chain leadership in a commercial/FMCG environment
  • Preference for a strong experience of working within a dynamic and international environment.
  • Practical knowledge of specific supply chain areas (planning/ customer service/logistics/transport)
  • Previous experience of running a regional S&OP process
  • Knowledge of SC systems SAP/JDE as well as Excel, Power Bi
  • Ability to manage across business units that have different challenges, sizes and business needs.
  • Developed Leadership and people management skills, with the ability to demonstrate setting clear objectives, feedback, communication, recognition, development of others and flexibility and operate on the regional leadership team
  • Strategical thinking being able to translate business requirements to Supply chain strategy
  • Excellent management and engagement of stakeholders, building rapport and comfortable working in a matric organization (example, the local 3x DC’s report into the EMEA Logistics structure but this role is responsible for coordinating actions, solutions across them to deliver the expected customer service levels)
  • Negotiation skills
  • High Impact and communication skills. Fluency in Arabic would be a positive.

  • Previous experience within the Beauty Business would be a plus.
  • Travel will be required across the region as well as to the supply HQ in Europe.
