Job Responsibilities

Back in March 2017, Eutelsat & ViaSat closed their partnering arrangement combining Eutelsat’s established European broadband business with ViaSat’s broadband technology know-how and Internet Service Provider (ISP) business expertise.

Building on a decade-long relationship, Eutelsat and ViaSat have created a partnership that is expanding Eutelsat’s current wholesale broadband business and launching a new consumer retail service in Europe. Headquartered in Lausanne, Switzerland, the joint venture consists of two businesses coordinating efforts to expand the European broadband market:

Wholesale Services focuses on providing wholesale broadband and mobility services in the European and Mediterranean regions to the newly established retail services business and existing Eutelsat distributors. Eutelsat is contributing its current European broadband business including the KA-SAT satellite to the newly formed entity, owned 51% by Eutelsat. ViaSat has acquired a 49% interest in the business for a consideration of €132.5 million.

Retail Services focuses on offering retail broadband services in the European and Mediterranean regions. Enhanced service plans are expected to be introduced in select European countries from 2017 onwards, setting a foundation for growth in the retail services business with the availability of future satellite capacity. This business is owned 51% by ViaSat and 49% by Eutelsat

Main purpose of job:
This position is accountable for the sales, channel management and development of B2C and B2B connectivity via the KASAT satellite.

Main responsibilities:
  • Provide business assistance to the Country Manager/Kams and Channel Partners – Distributors, including call centers, to close deals with selected customer accounts as needed.
  • Coordinate Sales and Marketing activities with Regional Sales teams and sales field resources to support broadband business objectives.
  • Cooperate with the JV Management to align, respect and implement JV sales decision
  • Active contribution to meeting, reaching and going beyond the targets and sales numbers assigned by the Management.
  • Propose to Management corrective actions per Distributor / Call Centre or country, Marketing activities, sales initiatives for reaching required objectives. 
  • Starting from market requirements and competitors services analysis, define the commercial service and review the Company services offer.
  • In collaboration with the Pre-Sales team, define and prepare the commercial offers for the provision of IP by satellite. 
  • Support the project team in developing in due time solutions for current and future partners.
  • Contribute to commercial contract drafting and negotiation.
  • Follow up customers with local sales team once the solution is deployed.
  • Contribute to internal reports, sales pipeline development and related sale process.




  • A marketing or business education and master degree.
  • A five years’ experience minimum in the Internet or Wireless Communication Industry and/or an experience in business development and sales
  • Readiness for extensive travel and customer facing / meetings
  • Knowledge of European professional market and, in particular, in the vertical industry segments.
  • Familiarity with satellite telecommunication technology.
  • A good knowledge of the IP network ecosystem, Telecommunication and ICT market.
  • Very good selling skills, time management, communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Fluency in English (both written and spoken); a good knowledge of other EU languages would be appreciated.
