The Role

The Technology and Administration Solutions (TAS) H&W QA Team Leader is responsible for leading the Manila TAS H&W QA team. 

Client: Work with the Manila Office Practice Leader and TAS NA QA Team Leader to achieve business plans with respect to financial targets, client delivery and staff management.

  • Primarily accountable for appropriate staffing and workload management strategies to complement business and organizational needs.

  • Act as the primary POC for team inquiries and escalations.

  • Accountable for project success including accountabilities on review requests, work assessment, resource management, schedule control, and effective/proactive communication of project status, issues, and risks to leadership and client team stakeholders.

  • Review and assess work streams and manage priorities, resources, and conflicts.

    Financials:  Support and execute business plan to deliver planned performance which creates leverage to generate revenue and profit in accordance with financial targets.

  • Partner with Manila Office Practice Leader and H&W QA leadership to achieve team utilization goals.

  • Assists in determining requirements for estimating new project implementation and/or change requests.

  • Assists Project Managers in determining and monitoring overall project direction, scope, work plans, and budget specific to the Manila team’s scope

  • Expected to use up 40% of productive time on client billable work.

    People:  Drive team development and career planning for individual associates.

  • Provide oversight on strategic staffing plans and help team managers identify career development opportunities for associates. Grow leaders within the team and provide opportunities to foster leadership growth.

  • Outline an appropriate L&D and capability roadmap for associates that’s consistent with individual career and business goals.

  • Manage performance issues. Provide timely constructive feedback.

  • Sustain a high level of associate engagement. Champion and advocate an atmosphere that will support associate retention.

  • Foster teamwork, positive morale, open communication and “make WTW a great place to work in”

  • Collaborate with other role groups and business segments to find areas of synergies and participation to promote teamwork across teams.

  • Demonstrate leadership within the leadership community.

  • Work and partner with Manila and H&W QA leadership to identify issues, risks, inefficiencies, and improvement areas and define how to address such areas.

  • Know and understand the company’s product and how it is meant to work; then implement strategies that ensure features and functionalities are properly tested and work as intended.

  • Identify product issues and work to prioritize and plan resolutions.

  • Ensure teams are complying with WTW Professional Excellence, ISO 9001 and ISO 27001 policies and procedures and adopting QA standard tools and processes. Assists in developing standardized work processes, tools, and methodologies that improve quality and efficiency

  • Oversee team performance against established quality, security, efficiency and client delivery standards. Be a partner to leadership in identifying and mitigating risks related to these standards.

  • Set goals, determine schedules, and drive consistency of team methodology, process and deliverables. Measure progress against objectives.

  • Contribute in the establishment of best practices consistent with industry and quality standards

  • Be a SME on critical QA disciplines and best practices. Provide leadership and mentoring to Quality Analysts on the following:

    • Define and document project requirements, and business processes

    • Develop system specifications, process flow, and conversion strategies for system implementations

    • Create technical documentation

    • Develop comprehensive test plans for system implementations

    • Improve QA processes including documentation and testing automation

      Key Working Relationships

      • With H&W QA Team Leader to effectively deliver client services and introduce best practices related to tools, technology, and methodology.

      • With Manila Office Practice Leader to manage and leverage staff resources and to identify/transition new work opportunities.

      • With Manila QA Team Managers to promote right-staffing, team engagement, and associate growth and retention.

      • With Manila Operations Leadership team to collaborate on local office management.

Job Requirements

The Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Management Information Systems or related area.

  • At least 10 years of relevant work experience.

  • At least 3 years of project management experience in a full software development life cycle

  • Experience in exploratory, black box, white box, mobile, and sanity testing.

  • Experience in basic principles of software development and testing such as waterfall, agile, SDLC, and V Model.

  • Experience in testing tools such as HP ALM, HP QTP, Jira, and Test Management is a plus.

  • Automation testing experience is a plus.

  • Knowledgeable in XML, HTML, T-SQL.

  • Experience in MS Project is a plus.

  • Experience working with the US is preferred.

  • People management experience is required.
